Wonderfully soft, cosy and full of texture, this 100% merino wool baby blanket by Lullalove features a beautiful popcorn knit with a raised, bobbled pattern. The dense, textured weave gives the blanket a lovely substantial feel, while the natural merino wool fibres provide warmth, softness and breathability.
Made in Poland from fine merino wool yarn, this 80 × 100 cm baby blanket is a lovely choice for everyday cuddles, keeping little ones comfortable and adding a touch of natural texture to the nursery. Available in a selection of colours to suit your style.
A Beautifully Textured Popcorn Knit
It's the distinctive popcorn weave that makes this blanket stand out. Small, raised knitted details create a softly bobbled surface, adding depth and texture to the fabric.
Unlike our more delicate openwork leaf weave, the popcorn knit has a denser construction and a fuller, cosier feel. It's a lovely option if you prefer a more substantial knitted blanket while still enjoying the natural qualities of merino wool.
Why Choose a Merino Wool Baby Blanket?
Merino wool is known for its exceptionally fine fibres, which are softer and more flexible than many traditional wool yarns. Naturally breathable and temperature regulating, it's a versatile material that provides comfortable warmth without relying on synthetic fibres.

Natural Comfort Through the Seasons
Merino wool has a natural ability to help manage moisture and provide insulation, making it a practical material for use throughout the year.
The popcorn knit creates a denser texture than an openwork blanket, making it particularly appealing when you're looking for something soft and cosy. As with any baby blanket, always choose bedding appropriate for the temperature and your baby's needs, and take care to avoid overheating.

How to Care for Your Merino Wool Blanket
One of the practical benefits of merino wool is that it doesn't need washing as frequently as many other fabrics. Regular airing can help keep your blanket fresh between washes.
When washing is needed, gentle care will help preserve the natural fibres and the beautiful popcorn texture.
-
Hand wash or use a dedicated delicate wool programme on your washing machine.
- Use a good-quality detergent specifically formulated for wool.
- Keep the spin speed at a maximum of 200 rpm, or avoid spinning altogether.
- Gently reshape the blanket by hand while damp.
-
Dry flat, away from radiators, underfloor heating and other direct heat sources.
- Do not tumble dry.
Merino wool can naturally develop small bobbles or pilling in areas exposed to regular friction. This is a normal characteristic of wool and can be carefully managed with a suitable wool comb or fabric shaver.
Natural wool may also have a characteristic scent, particularly when damp. Slight variations in colour appearance are possible depending on lighting and screen settings.
Baby Blanket Safety
Always follow current safer sleep guidance when using blankets with babies. For babies under 12 months, any blanket used for sleep should be lightweight and appropriate for the room temperature, firmly tucked in no higher than shoulder level, with your baby's feet at the foot of the cot.
Because this is a dense knitted wool blanket, assess its warmth and suitability carefully. Avoid overheating, keep your baby's head and face uncovered, and follow the manufacturer's guidance for safe use.
